Lua de Caldelas is located at the heart of the beautiful village of Caldelas, home of the Termas de Caldelas, the therapeutic springs known from the Roman days. For generations, the springs made Caldelas an ideal destination for people seeking cure and health.
The experience combines an updated interior design, Bistro that fusions the local tradition of Vinho Verde with fine dining from the Mediterranean, and an art gallery hosting local artists. In the vast garden guests can relax in one of the hot tubs overlooking the view or spend a magical evening by the fire pit, or rent mountain bikes for a day of adventure.
All the rooms are equipped with A/C, free fast wi-fi, and TV. Our Mediterranean breakfast is served daily to our guests, who can also enjoy free access to the hot tubs in our garden, where they can relax, heal and admire the view.

Perhaps the menu [only available in English] seems short and simple; however, the quality of the different dishes and their excellent preparation more than compensate, resulting in a truly outstanding dish. The service is very attentive; however, if you don't speak English, there is a slight language barrier; although, given the owners' helpfulness and willingness to assist, it's easily overcome. In a somewhat minimalist setting, the restaurant has a limited number of tables, many of which may be occupied by guests of the boutique hotel to which it belongs, so reservations are highly recommended.
We stayed three nights in the wonderful Boutique Hotel. Such a relaxing time! Meals could be outside on their lovely patio or inside their air conditioned restaurant. Breakfast was a wonderful variety each morning - something for everyone. We had dinner at their Bistro two nights. We had expected they would have a set menu, but each night there was a choice of three or four starters, three mains (fish, meat and vegetarian) and three desserts. I should also mention they have a lovely wine list. I would like to mention the wonderful hospitality of Ziv and Keren. Always available for a question or recommendation. The grounds were beautiful with areas to enjoy the sun or shade. We also enjoyed the hot tub one evening under the stars. Finally, the interior design of the rooms were simple, elegant and mostly made and designed by Keren, an amazing artist! I am going to keep an eye on their FB page and hope to return for one of their special dinners or art workshops!
