Beautiful hotel, location and great food!

Karen and Zif were the most gracious hosts and met our every need. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed it immensely. Each morning Karen had different breakfast options that were hand crafted and Zif always met us with a smile and asked if we would like one of his delicious omelets. The rooms are equipped with AC, comfortable beds and pillows and spectacular views of the region. We highly suggest giving this guest house a try if you are planning a trip to the Minho area!

A hidden gem in the mountains near Braga. Beautiful design and serene atmosphere. Lovely people, clear mountain water in the beautiful garden with hot tubs. And a magical few. Highly recommended !!!

Highly recommended! We had a wonderful time at Lua de Caldelas. The hotel is beautifully designed down to the last detail. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a terrace facing the impressive church bell tower up front and a window with a view of the hotel's garden. Breakfast was delicious and varied every day. Ziv and Keren are the perfect hosts—welcoming and warm. They took care of everything we needed and recommended strolls and day trips around the area so we could make the best of our stay. This is a place to return to again and again.

¡Ya he visitado este lugar 3 veces, y con cada visita me enamoro más de él! Las vistas son espectaculares, de esas que te dejan sin palabras nada más abrir las cortinas por la mañana. Las habitaciones, preciosas e impecablemente limpias, están decoradas con mucho gusto y cuidando cada detalle. En el jardín tienen barricas de madera a modo de bañeras: un auténtico lujo relajarte al aire libre, rodeado de naturaleza y con esas vistas de fondo. Le da un toque muy peculiar a toda la experiencia. Keren prepara desayunos y cenas increíbles, con platos coloridos y especias muy peculiares que les dan una personalidad única. Ojalá pudiera aprender de ella a cocinar, ¡hasta los huevos cocidos le salen perfectos! Y para rematar, abajo tienen una vinoteca con vinos de gran calidad, de esos que se disfrutan de verdad y no dan resaca 😄. Pero lo que de verdad hace único este lugar es el cariño con el que Keren y Ziv lo llevan. Siempre atentos y amables, consiguen que te sientas como en casa sin renunciar a las comodidades de un alojamiento excepcional. Se nota en cada rincón, en cada plato y en cada gesto. Sin duda volveré una cuarta, quinta y las veces que hagan falta. Si buscáis desconectar de verdad, con vistas increíbles, un baño en las barricas, buena comida y mejor vino, este es vuestro sitio. ¡Totalmente recomendable!

We had an unforgettable stay here. Everything was well thought out with luxury and comfort in mind. The design, decor, linens and grounds were beautiful. The view from our room was breathtaking. We ate several meals here and the food was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Lua. Keren and Ziv are amazing hosts. So kind and accommodating. Keren has her touch all over this place. I wanted to take home many of her unique lighting creations. We would love to return some day. Do not pass up an opportunity to stay here.

Hello travelers and those planning to visit the Paneda-Geres National Park in northern Portugal. I would like to recommend a charming family hotel in a small village on the western side of the park. The hotel is called Lua de Caldelas. It belongs to an Israeli couple, Keren and Ziv, who do everything they can to make sure travelers have a pleasant and homely stay. The spaces are beautiful, the breakfasts are great, and the dinner we had there was the best meal of our trip. Ziv guided us where to go to visit the park, and his advice made the trip for us. Highly recommended!

Aww what a beautiful boutique hotel. Everything was perfect and above expectations. Location is amazing. Host made us feel as if we were home. Breakfasts were delicious. Dinners were extra special as the food was amazing. We did not want to have dinner anywhere else and we had the host and his family join us . Thank you Ziv for the beautiful scenic route you gave us. Definitely will be back.

A fabulous stay with lovely owners who took good care of us and helped us enjoy our stay even more. The whole hotel is a work of art. The design of the rooms is immaculate, fabulous colour scheme, a pleasure to the eye. The breakfast was amazing! The best I have ever had. Healthy, fresh and tasty. The hot tubs were an added bonus. We absolutely loved our stay. The rooms are so beautiful, with such attention to detail. The decor is done with taste and I loved that art and nature are intertwined…it spoke to me as there is no distinction between the two. Absolutely unforgettable stay. The property itself is stunning — peaceful, beautiful views, amazing sunsets, fresh fruit trees, and such a relaxing atmosphere. The hot tub, outdoor areas, and overall vibe made this place feel like a hidden paradise in Portugal. But what truly made this experience special was Ziv and Karen. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived. Honestly, they felt like our mom and dad away from home. Their hospitality went far beyond anything we expected. My girlfriend forgot important medication back home, and Karen helped us get what we needed. She even went out of her way to the supermarket to buy hair products so she could do my girlfriend’s hair for a wedding we were attending — and it looked amazing. She also offered to iron my clothes for the wedding. They warmed up the hot tub for us every night, constantly checked in to make sure we were okay, and even brought us food because they felt we needed to eat something. That kind of kindness and care is rare to find anywhere. You can truly feel the love they put into both the property and the people who stay there. We left feeling grateful and honestly emotional about leaving. Ziv and Karen deserve the absolute best. If you’re thinking about staying here, don’t hesitate — book it. You won’t regret it.

Wir haben uns in Lua de Caldelas rundum wohlgefühlt – ein wirklich wunderschönes Anwesen mit traumhaftem Garten und Ausblick. Besonders die Hotpools im Garten sind ein Highlight, selbst bei Regen ein echtes Erlebnis. Die Zimmer sind stilvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Auch das mediterrane Restaurant hat uns mit hervorragendem Essen überzeugt.

Ein sehr schönes altes Haus, das von Keren und Ziv sorgfältig und mit einer ausgesprochenen Wertigkeit renoviert wurde. Die beiden vermitteln Gastfreundschaft auf eine sehr zuvorkommende und aufmerksame Weise. Man fühlt sich wohl und willkommen vom ersten Augenblick an. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious – tastefully furnished, comfortable and cozy, spacious with spectacular views of the beautiful villages and high mountains. At the entrance to the enchanting building and in all the rooms, there are unique lamps handmade by Keren, which provide soft, warm, and pleasant lighting. All the designs in the building are made of natural materials, perfectly suited to each room. The restaurant - Let's talk about the restaurant... The restaurant is also designed with great aesthetics, emphasizing comfort and beauty. It is spacious and pleasant, with soft lighting that changes between morning and evening. The unique tableware, the emphasis on colors, and the meticulous design of the entire restaurant are commendable and beyond. And the food, ahhh, the food! It is an inspiring work of art by Ziv and Keren. The breakfasts are abundant and healthy - fruit salads, yogurt, amazing cheeses, eggs, omelets, pastries, wonderful breads, fresh orange juice, and wonderful coffee. The dinners are exceptionally refined, very high quality, and everything is incredibly delicious! I have never eaten as well and as deliciously as I did at Keren and Ziv's. The garden and courtyard are lit by beautiful lamps designed by Keren, and there is a hot tub between them. We went into the hot tub on a cold and rainy night - an amazing, amazing experience. My wife and I spent 7 amazing nights at Lua de Caldelas. We had such a great experience, the room was amazing and the views from the balcony were breathtaking. The hotel is kept in immaculate shape every day, we felt we were walking through a dream each day. Breakfast each morning was a highlight of everything we did on our trip. The hosts are so welcoming and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The food is incredible, and each morning there is something new to try. We can’t recommend Lua enough. It is a beautiful boutique hotel and if we come back to Caldelas we will still stay here again. 5 stars++

Certainly an amazing hotel . On one hand its very beautiful and esthetic and on the other it makes you feel like home. Service was very warm and welcoming , food was excellent - gourmet level and my stay there was fantastic. Certainly a place to come back to and send my friends to escape from their daily to this little paradise

We had the best times here. The room had a view like a ferry tale. Food is amazing, Breakfast is perfect and dinner was the best dinner we ate in portugal. We went in the hot tub with glasses of perfect wine... The owners are super nice and attentive (and really talented) and they gave us great recommendations for tours in the area. Thank you for the inspiration and great memories.

Wij hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf in deze B&B! De kamers waren prachtig ingericht, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. De eigenaren zijn enorm gastvrij en doen er alles aan om je verblijf zo prettig mogelijk te maken, altijd met een glimlach en oog voor detail. Het ontbijt en diner waren heerlijk, vers bereid en met veel liefde geserveerd. Echt een plek waar je helemaal tot rust komt en waar je met plezier nog eens terugkomt. Een absolute aanrader!
